Hardwood Creations

There where a number of booths at the Harvest Festival that displayed fine hardwood products.

However our attention was grabbed by Hardwood Creations. There was something more appealing in the shapes, patterns, finish and functionality that just appealed to us, and from the activity we saw, many others. The selection was broad, cutting boards, game boards, desk accessories and much more.

What was unique was his puzzle trivets and puzzle table. Our photo snapped at the shows them in a traditional configuration. You need to go to his web site http://davidlevycreations.com/ and see the detailed photos and YouTube video. They are fascinating in their sophistication and beautiful use of woods.

Clearlight Jewelry

The offering is elegant and handcrafted jewelry produced by a family of artists from all natural, recycled mother of pearl shell. Their use of color and varnishes creates very desirable finished pieces. These are selections of fine art and individual originals which we think would enhance any accessorizing resource.

Like so many of the items that attract us at fairs and shows the Clearlight Jewelry display and lighting set them apart from surrounding vendors. We where impressed with the quality and pure clean appearance of the finished artwork. Nice to be able to wear a fine art creation to brighten up your day (and for those around you).

There was a wide variety offered at this fair and we see they have a constant updating of new creations at their website. Highly recommended your catch at their next show and even before that go to their web location http://clearlightjewelry.com/ .

Wald Works Handcrafted Trunks & Chests

Wald Works came all the way from Harwood, North Dakota to participate at this venue. The list themselves as “manufacturers of quality handcrafted cedar lined oak trunks, oak jewelry boxes, jewelry armoires and jewelry chests”. That and the term heirloom is well earned in connect to their products.

These where finely made items that are very attractive. Additionally, and just as important, they are extremely functional. Each item is surely carefully though about before the design is finalized. (However, there was one upright stand for earrings that I’m not finding on their website which you may want to ask them about. It was simple and elegant).

Check their upcoming show schedule and their website for more details.

The Corker

We aren’t personally consumers of wines however the artistry of hand crafted and illustrated cork bottle corks have great appeal. The Corker had a wide selection on display and we felt they could even be just used as decorative items.

Another great use would be for olive oil or other kitchen. With everything from black and white to full color unique items these where great.

They explain their product quite well at their webpage along with some of the product variety. http://www.thecorker.com/

Originals Walking Sticks

If you personally have need of a cane or just want a really nice walking stick you need to see the offerings at Originals Walking Sticks. These are all made by a individual who found that she had a personal need. Except for some exotic woods on a few of the selection all the materials are from the USA and the items are hand crafted in the USA. This was one of those booths that just ‘invited’ us to touch and see the finished products. Because of the limited production there is no web site but you can email the owner for a schedule of shows and perhaps some illustrations. Susan K. Miller, mpshogrl@msn.com.

Pomona Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival Dec 2-4, 2011
Los Angeles County Fair Grounds, Pomona CA

This year (2011) they were saying that there where more than 200 vendors. We can easily believe that. The event was an excellent shopping opportunity for a great range of items, prices and selection. A number of ‘first time’ artists where number which we felt really expanded the selection. Some of these we would be thrilled to see at future events. This Harvest Festival (Original Art & Craft Show) is always worthy of scheduling into your calendar.
